IMARC confirms Sydney as host for a fourth year
The International Mining and Resources Conference + Expo (IMARC) has confirmed Sydney to be the host for the 2025 conference, marking the fourth year for the city.
Since the move to Sydney, IMARC has reported record numbers, this year 9,000 attendees from 115 countries over three days, which contributed an estimated direct expenditure of $17.8 million. The conference and expo have been described as a beacon of innovation and collaboration for the industry and all eyes are now on Sydney for another year. Global and Australian mining and resources companies are turning their attention to 2025, which has already sold around 70 per cent of exhibition space.
“Sydney is the nation’s premier destination for business events, a sector we have plans to grow even further over coming years,” Minister for Jobs and Tourism, the Hon. John Graham, said. “We look from to welcoming the International Mining and Resources Conference back to Sydney for the fourth time in 2025 and encourage these thousands of delegates to enjoy everything Sydney has to offer but also get out into our amazing regional areas.”
“NSW is on the cusp of realising the opportunities in energy, but we know we’re not alone in the global race,” Minister for Natural Resources, the Hon. Courtney Houssos, said in emphasising the NSW government’s focus on energy opportunities and partnerships to attract investment in green industries. “NSW is on the cusp of realising the opportunities in energy, but we know we’re not alone in the global race. Here in NSW, our message is clear. We are open for business.”
“It was great to see IMARC back in Sydney for a third consecutive year, its biggest yet, and the largest professional business event on Sydney’s packed 2024 calendar,” Business Events Sydney CEO, Lyn Lewis-Smith, said. “The conference program facilitates vital conversations on ESG reporting and circularity showcasing to the world how Australia is transitioning its economy. Our research shows that as well as generating an estimated $17.8 million of direct expenditure into the NSW economy from the 9,000 attendees gathering in Sydney for three days, world-leading business events like IMARC 2024 are also a platform for collaboration, innovation, and attracting investment and talent.”
