Jacinda Ardern opens for tourism leaders’ lunch in Sydney

Yesterday Tourism Australia and Tourism New Zealand came together to co-host a Tourism Leaders’ Lunch at the Hyatt Regency, Sydney.

The Right Honourable Jacinda Ardern, Prime Minister of New Zealand gave her opening remarks in a speech that was heartfelt, humorous and uplifting, optimistic about the future of travel between the two neighbouring countries.

Emcee of the day, Karl Stefanovic, hosted a panel discussion with special guests Senator the Hon Don Farrell, Australia’s Minister for Trade and Tourism, the Hon Stuart Nash, New Zealand’s Minister of Tourism, René de Monchy, Chief Executive of Tourism New Zealand and Phillipa Harrison, Managing Director of Tourism Australia.

The event was centred around the theme of ‘Achieving an Enduring and Regenerative Tourism Recovery’ and celebrated the unique bond and friendly rivalry between Australia and New Zealand.

Because the rest of the world might see Aussies and Kiwis as joined at the hip and you know what? Maybe that’s not such a bad thing!
