Jeremy Nordkamp lands GM role at Crystalbrook Collection’s Riley property

Crystalbrook Collection has appointed Jeremy Nordkamp as general manager of its flagship Cairns resort.

Nordkamp joins the hospitality company’s Riley resort with 14 years’ experience in the hotel industry, having most recently held a similar role at The Calile Hotel.

Growing up in Coolum in the Sunshine Coast, Nordkamp moved to Fraser Island to start his hospitality career at Kingfisher Bay Resort, working at fine-dining restaurant Seabelle.

He then worked his way to front-of-house manager at several island resorts including Dunk Island, and at Brisbane hotels like Hilton International and Mantra Southbank, before being named general manager of Peppers Beach Club in 2012.

Nordkamp left the Port Douglas resort almost two years later to lead the pre-opening team at Mantra on Edward in Brisbane, before heading south to lead the opening of yet another team at Peppers Docklands.

Following a brief stint at Ovolo Laneways, Nordkamp headed overseas to take on the role of resort manager at Kandima, Maldives.

“I love working outside the box and challenging the status quo, looking for new innovative ways to surprise guests through service and the food and beverage journey of a property,” he said.

“We have it all [in Queensland,] from the rainforest and the reef, the tablelands, waterfalls, mountains, trekking, mountain bike tracks, triathlons and, not to mention some of the best motorbike rides in the country.

“Who wouldn’t jump at the chance to come and stay for a while or return home?”
