Langham to manage new luxury hotel and residences on the Gold Coast

Langham Hospitality Group has announced it will manage its third luxury hotel in Australia.

Opening at the end of 2021, The Langham, Gold Coast will feature 169 well-appointed rooms and suites, with the group also set to manage the Jewel Residences by The Langham, which consists of 170 serviced apartments designed and built to the brand’s specifications.

With their prime location on the beachfront in Surfers Paradise, the hotel and serviced apartments are in the central and tallest of the three landmark towers of the Jewel development.

According to Langham, the Jewel is the first and largest development with direct beach access to be built in the coastal city within the last 30 years.

“Combining the cosmopolitan vibrancy and relaxed lifestyle for which the Gold Coast is renowned will certainly position The Langham as the quintessential luxury urban resort,” Langham Hospitality Group CEO Stefan Leser said.

“We are very much looking forward to complementing our legendary service standards with the warmth of this beautiful city to make our all guests’ experiences celebratory and memorable.”

The Langham, Gold Coast is located between the third and 20th floors, while the residences are on the 22nd to 49th floors, which promise stunning city and ocean views.

From the deluxe room to the elegant presidential suite, The Langham, Gold Coast has a range of accommodation to suit guests on corporate or leisure stays. Upping the ante on the suite stakes, all 18 suites at The Langham feature impressive 180-degree uninterrupted views of the Pacific Ocean.

Additionally, The Langham, Gold Coast is also positioned to be the new social centre of the local community with the introduction of new dining and lifestyle experiences, featuring restaurants, a casual ‘grab and go’ café, a lobby lounge, a pool bar, and a podium sky terrace overlooking the ocean.

Headlining the culinary offerings will be T’ang Court, the signature Cantonese restaurant, which Langham said would extend the prestigious reputation of its Michelin-starred counterparts at The Langham hotels in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

The restaurant will feature two private dining rooms ideal for exclusive events, while the main area will seat 90 guests.

Furthermore, The Langham will be a decent setting for weddings, conferences, meetings and special social or corporate events, with the property featuring a 700-square-metre ballroom.

An additional four meeting rooms with a total of 450 square metres and a multi-function room at 500 square metres are also features of the build.

Developed by AW Holding Group, the appointed architects for The Langham, Gold Coast and the Jewel are DBI Design and US-based Oppenheim Architecture + Design, respectively.

The interior design firm for the hotel is Sydney-based Studio Aria, which took the inspiration of the design concept from the prime coastal location and the nearby national parks and hinterland.
