Life in the time of COVID-19 with Nesuto’s Dilshad Khan
This week, we caught up with Nesuto’s sales manager for Western Australia, Dilshad Khan, to find out how she’s been faring amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
What are you reading?
I haven’t found too much time to read, as I am busy watching Netflix series, listening to music, and yes, talking to family overseas as much as I can.
What are you watching?
I am watching The Good Doctor and David Attenborough’s Our Planet.
What are you listening to?
Currently, I am listening to Andrea Bocelli and my all-time favourites, ABBA.
What are you cooking?
Ohh, well … I never knew how to cook, but now I love cooking and it gives me great satisfaction when I cook a nice meal – particularly Bengali, Mexican and Italian cuisines. Currently, I am cooking beef chili con carne.
How are you staying fit both physically and mentally?
I love to walk when I get a chance. To me, mental fitness is all about being calm, so I keep listening to music that keeps me calm and relax.
What’s the one thing keeping you sane?
Being with my cat (Ladybug) by my side, FaceTime with family overseas, and catch-ups with my best friend over brunch.
What’s something positive you’ve witnessed or experienced since the coronavirus hit?
I have seen humanity and kindness in each other during this crisis time.
What have you learned about yourself amid the crisis?
I have learned to be more appreciative and recognised how blessed I am to be surrounded by people who care for me and are always by my side. I’ve also learned to let go of some people from my life and move on.
What’s your advice for others in the MICE industry on coping with the crisis?
Be proactive, think outside the box and always be ready to adapt, because things can change at the last minute. Let’s be kind to each other, since we are all in this together.
