Melbourne Airport has announced plans for Elite Park, a 32-hectare entertainment, leisure, and retail precinct with construction set to start next year.

The development, located between the Tullamarine Freeway and Airport Drive, aims to transform the area into a vibrant hub and is expected to create over 2,000 jobs, benefiting nearby communities in Hume and Brimbank.

Pending Federal Government approval, the project will be rolled out in three stages over nine years, with construction starting in 2025 and the first tenants anticipated by late 2026.

Jai McDermott, chief of ground transport, property, and retail at Melbourne Airport, said Elite Park will be more than just a business space—it will become a go-to destination for locals.

“Melbourne Airport is more than just an airport. We are creating community spaces where people can work, play, and spend time with family and friends,” McDermott said.

“The success of nearby Urbnsurf, Australia’s first surf park, has paved the way for Elite Park’s vision.

“Urbnsurf has become one of Victoria’s top attractions, and Elite Park will build on that success, supporting the City of Hume’s growth as a tourism destination.”

The new precinct will feature a mix of entertainment venues, food and beverage outlets, and large-format retail stores. Among the expected tenants is Topgolf, which plans to open its first Melbourne location within the development.

Elite Park is projected to contribute around $246 million annually to the Victorian economy, providing a significant economic boost alongside the creation of thousands of jobs.

The proposed plans for Elite Park will go on public display from September 26, inviting community feedback until December 20.
