Power of exhibitions takes centre stage

Power of exhibitions takes centre stage

The Exhibition and Event Association of Australia has underscored the potential of exhibitions for both exhibitors and the wider economy with the launch of a new video featuring testimonials from organisers and buyers.

Unveiled at a business breakfast at Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre this morning, the screening was accompanied by talks from EEAA president Domenic Genua, chief executive Joyce DiMascio and the state deputy premier Andrew Stoner.

“This is not a bells and whistles multi million dollar campaign,” Genua said.

“It’s a sensible program designed to take our message to the people who need to hear it most. It’s a progressive step-by-step approach.”

DiMascio outlined the two strands to the campaigns messaging, with the effectiveness of the channel a key focus including its ability to deliver a message to a “captive audience”, thereby accelerating the sales process, to drive more business online, to loyalty clubs and to retail while making emotional connections and harnessing all five senses.

The campaign’s other emphasis is on the flow-on benefits for other areas of the visitor economy and for cracking the export market.

“When we have exhibitors and buyers stressing the importance of the channel, it’s absolutely essential that we listen,” DiMascio said.

Meanwhile, Stoner gave the campaign his full support and sihed the EEAA “every success” in showing stakeholders the power of exhibitions through the campaign.

We’ll have more coverage from the Power of Exhibitions business breakfast in Thursday’s issue of The Nibbler.
