Sydney’s luxury Radisson Blu Hotel is getting a makeover with the first two floors of the redesign to be completed by end December and the total redesign will be finished in mid-2016.

This is the second phase of the Radisson Blu Hotels’ $12 million re-design, the first major update of its guest rooms and function spaces since opening in 2000.

Phase two will refresh and add to existing guest rooms, with new silk fabrics and a contemporary chrome and steel-blue colour scheme with chevron patterning.

The re-design, headed by Sydney architects Bates Smart, commenced in September with the refreshment and expansion of the hotel’s function and meeting rooms.

Radisson Blu general manager Peter Tudehope said, “This $12 million investmenet will cement Radisson Blu’s position as one of the leading five-star hotels in Sydney.”

In the meantime, current guests can enjoy a “blu” Christmas at the hotel this Silly Season.

The hotel, decked out in blue, will host a Festive High Tea daily until 3 January 2016, and launched the “12 Days of Blu Christmas” Instagram and Facebook competition on 1st December.

To go into the running to win two nights at any Radisson Blu, followers need only like or share the photo and post a comment.

Tudehope voiced his own excitement, saying, “The Christmas season in Sydney really is hard to beat.”

Radisson Blu Hotel Sydney is a five-star hotel housed within a heritage-listed building on O’Connell Street in Sydney’s CBD.
