TADA launches in Melbourne to celebrate travel agents’ vital role

Edited by Travel Weekly

Melbourne saw the debut of TADA, an event designed to recognise and support the travel agents who are at the heart of the industry.

Organised by Pri Mills, TADA brought together agents and exhibitors to foster connections, share insights, and inspire new ways of working at the event on 1 October.

Speaking with Travel Weekly‘s Hoda Alzubaidi, Mills explained the vision behind the event.

“This event has been totally tailored for travel agents,” she said. “After Covid, things have changed in the industry, the agents are busier than ever, they are so focused on their day to day that they can often be overworked and uninspired.

“TADA aims to inspire them to work more efficiently, connect with new and existing suppliers and collaborate with like-minded people.”

The event featured over 40 exhibitors, including Korea Tourism, Philippine Tourism and G Adventures, drawing more than 270 travel agents from across Australia. Panel sessions addressed key industry topics such as AI, social media, and sustainability, while offering travel agents the chance to engage directly with experts through interactive Q&A sessions.

Mills said she was thrilled about the success of the event.

“I am so happy with the outcome of the event, I am overwhelmed with positive feedback and planning ahead for next year already,” she said.

The day wrapped up with an awards ceremony celebrating top agents, followed by cocktails and networking. TADA ’24 has set the foundation for future collaboration, providing a dynamic space where travel agents can grow, learn, and connect.
