Te Pae Christchurch hires Sydney-based BDM

Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre has announced the appointment of Heidi Heming as its new business development manager based in Sydney.

Working closely with Te Pae Christchurch’s locally-based business development team, Heming’s part-time role will see her cultivating leads in one of the centre’s core markets.

Heming is an industry stalwart who is well-known in business event circles in both Australia and New Zealand, most recently for her 11-year tenure with Conventions & Incentives New Zealand.

Te Pae Christchurch general manager Ross Steele said his team was thrilled to have Heming as the centre’s “feet on the ground” in Australia.

“Heidi is well respected in the industry. She is a superb networker and will be a real asset as we continue to promote Te Pae Christchurch during our pre-opening period,” he said.

“While the borders between New Zealand and Australia are currently closed, they will reopen again, and this gives Te Pae Christchurch the opportunity to continue face-to-face engagement with our Australian clients.”

Commenting on her new role, Heming said she was excited to be representing Te Pae Christchurch here in the Australian market.

“I have been watching closely the progress of this venue since day one, so it feels like a natural step to be now part of the business development team,” she said.

“I’m looking forward to working with the Te Pae Christchurch team and connecting with Australian clients who are looking to host events in Christchurch in the years to come.”
