Novotel Newcastle Beach is bringing some of the best minds in the digital and technology space to the city for a day and a night for NewTech 2019.

Supported by the City of Newcastle, the conference will take place on Friday 6 September at Novotel Newcastle Beach.

The event will cover advances in fintech, Facebook and the rollout of its new digital currency, the importance of data and cyber security, content creation, digital marketing and more.

Keynote speakers at the event include Matt Purcell from Mentored with Mark Bouris, Craig Browning from OAS Technology and Michelle Adams from Accor.

Mark Shaw from OFX and Duncan Waterman from D-EDGE will also take the stage, with the day concluding with a forum session for questions and answers.

An after-dark networking cocktail event at Fort Scratchley will round out the day’s theme of ‘we live in the present, with an eye to the future whilst celebrating the past’.

Edmond Power, general manager at Novotel Newcastle Beach, said the hotel was delighted to curate some of the sharpest minds in the digital and technology space.

“Digital and technology, whether we acknowledge it or not, shapes almost every iteration in our professional and personal lives,” he said.

“We want to be a business that supports this city in becoming a tech hub.

“With the support of the City of Newcastle and endorsement of Lord Mayor Nuatali Nelmes and the digital technology community, we are thrilled to be sponsoring and hosting NewTech 2019 at Novotel Newcastle Beach, and we have no doubt guests will revel in the keynotes and forums with some of Australia’s most dynamic tech entrepreneurs.”
