The Association Specialists appoints fresh MD

The Association Specialists (TAS) has announced the appointment of Nell Harrison as its new managing director.

Harrison has over 20 years’ experience in conferences, events, association management, sponsorship and marketing, and has worked at TAS on all facets of the business for the last 12 years.

Passing the mantle is TAS owner Francis Child, who will continue to play an important role in the business as executive chair.

“I am proud of the business and team I have built over the last 20 years,” Child said.

“We have stayed true to what we have always been about – client satisfaction and adding value – and I know TAS is in great hands with Nell and her leadership team.

“Last year provided us with the time to step back and critically assess how we operate as a company, revisit the structure and gain a better understanding of the skill sets within our team to ensure we continue to align our services with the growing needs of our clients.

“Nell has been a leading contributor to the ongoing success of the business, and her dedication, passion and expertise have been integral to overcoming the challenges of the last 12 months for both clients and the team at TAS.

“Nell completely warrants her promotion into her new role and I look forward to continuing to work closely with her to drive TAS toward further success.”

Commenting on her new role, Harrison said: “I am honoured to be the managing director of a company whose core values are fundamental to what I believe in.

“I will continue the business focus, delivering quality services for clients and ensuring our team is the best there is to deliver those services.

“We have established a new leadership team to help steer our highly-motivated specialists to deliver exceptional results in the challenging environment.

“Our presence across Sydney, Perth and Melbourne are essential; however, the objective of the new organisational structure is to focus on the specialist services and skills we provide to our clients, no matter where we deliver them from.

In 2020, TAS delivered services to more than 70 national associations, and assisted in the management of over 200 meetings and events for its clients both face-to-face and online.
