The Bohoho opens in Camps Bay, Cape Town

Edited by Travel Weekly

The Bohoho, a boutique resort in Camps Bay, Cape Town, has opened access to travellers seeking the megatrend of content creator spaces.

Located in the scenic Camps Bay, the resort is a dreamland that channels the sun-drenched style of a ’60s summer in Palm Springs and brings it to our time in a cocktail of punch pop-art touches and sweeping ocean and mountain views. It offers an experience that celebrates creativity, freedom, and the kind of glamour that is meant to be shared.

The vision behind The Bohoho belongs to Daniela Gottschalk, a name synonymous with bold design and creative spaces. Founder of the high concept development company, Tinzeltown, Gottschalk’s mission is to redefine what are now called “content creator spaces”, immersing guests in environments that radiate energy and allow for bold self-expression.

Her projects, including Frankfurt’s iconic Theplacetobe bar, turn traditional hospitality on its head, creating spaces that look and feel like art in motion. At The Bohoho, Gottschalk brings the glamour of 1960s Palm Springs to life, mixing Hollywood flair with immersive colours and textures that evoke rock star confidence, fostering a luxurious retreat for travellers and creatives alike.

The Bohoho’s design

The resort makes a statement from every angle as it embraces a cohesive yet playful style, with vibrant cerulean blue and lime green hues complemented by striking black-and-white graphic patterns, metallic accents, and letterbox-red highlights. The extensive use of Jonathan Adler’s iconic “lips” design is found not only in stand-alone interior pieces but is also playfully integrated into the pool. Bathrooms feature opulent blue and black marble tiling, while blue and white striped Hollywood parasols by the pool provide the perfect setting for sun-drenched afternoons against the mountain backdrop.

Gottschalk’s vision breathes life into this maximalist retreat. Each design element adds to an ambience that is effortlessly cool and stunningly curated, inviting guests “to liberate themselves”, as Gottschalk describes the approach. Ultimately, The Bohoho becomes a retreat that doubles as an intimate stage, a destination where people are encouraged to express themselves freely, echoing the nostalgia of Old Hollywood glamour with the boldness of modern Instagram-ready design.

Designed for interaction and connection

Beyond its physical beauty, The Bohoho serves as a sanctuary for today’s culture of creative explorers and digital storytellers. The resort’s spaces become more than a backdrop, it is an integral part of the experience, designed to stimulate creativity and inspire engagement. Positioned as a luxury resort and content creator’s haven, The Bohoho has quickly established itself as a go-to destination for media studios, production teams, and influencers alike, who come to Camps Bay for both work and escape.

As trends in design and hospitality move towards spaces that encourage expression and individuality, The Bohoho is as the forefront of this transformation. Gottschalk’s design ethos embraces the rise of expressive maximalism, anticipating that by 2025, such immersive environments will become more than a trend, they will be a staple for the new generation of global travellers seeking unique experiences.
