Australia’s The Hotel Network has expanded its distribution reach with the launch of a corporate travel management portal.

Designed for sole traders, entrepreneurs and small- to medium-sized businesses, THN Connect features an easy-to-use travel management dashboard that allows users to track their travel and download reports for expense reconciliation and ATO compliance.

The portal also offers access to corporate rates and benefits at thousands of properties around Australia.

THN Connect is specifically designed to suit the needs of sole traders, entrepreneurs and SMEs with regular business travel commitments.

It is also easy to join and can be used by individual travellers or company administrators managing travel for their team, with the primary requirement an Australian Business Number.

THN Connect also offers users access to corporate rates and benefits at thousands of properties around Australia through a personalised, user-friendly interface with customised home page for each user.

Nick Brooke, managing director of THN, said the new portal solves pricing issues for small- and medium-sized enterprises, while enabling them to track and manage their accommodation bookings.

“We see a big opportunity in the SME sector, the largest employer of Australian workers,” he said.

“These businesses often aren’t large enough or have the travel volume to secure corporate rates and benefits at hotels around the country.”

According to a 2018 report from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, small- to medium-sized businesses employed 68 per cent of Australians working in the private sector.
