WATCH: Crowne Plaza promises reinvented post-lockdown meetings and events in new promo video

Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts has been busy reinventing the way businesses come together to reconnect after months of endless Zoom meetings.

In partnership with Business Events Australia through the Boost Programthe hotel group has released a new video to inspire the industry to think about the way they meet in the future.

The video spruiks Crowne Plaza’s creative event programming that offers fun and energizing breakouts, offsite gatherings and fresh and healthy food options.

Dean Jones, head of commercial for Japan, Australasia and the Pacific at IHG, said that before lockdowns, the company saw increased lead generation and bookings from businesses wanting a return to face to face events.

“There’s no doubt, we have been thrown a major curveball with the current border restrictions and lockdowns; however, feedback suggests there is an even stronger desire for people to come together, have fun, and reconnect,” he said.

“In fact, rather than cancelling, many business events that were booked prior to lockdowns have chosen to reschedule to either later this year or to 2022, as the reasons to meet remain just as relevant and compelling. In a post-pandemic world, we are resetting the stage for creative collaboration in Australia.”

Crowne Plaza has also brushed up on its tech skills to deliver hybrid options, having introduced ‘Crowne Plaza Connections’ early this year. This hybrid meeting solution incorporates a range of different meeting platforms and audio-visual solutions, designed to help people stay connected across cities and borders to achieve greater results through dispersed meetings.

Connecting 12 different Crowne Plaza hotels, hybrid meetings offer a great backup plan for those who might get hit with obstacles that affect their plans to gather in one location.

The brand boasts four recently opened properties in Hobart, Adelaide, and Darling Harbour and Burwood in Sydney, plus four newly renovated Crowne Plaza hotels in Coogee (Sydney), Melbourne, Hawkesbury Valley and Terrigal in NSW.
