$300m Adelaide Casino expansion approved

A $300 million expansion of the Adelaide Casino has been approved by South Australia’s Development Assessment Commission.

SkyCity Entertainment Group says the commission has given the green light to its proposed design which includes an 80-room hotel, additional gaming spaces and new restaurants.

Chief Executive Nigel Morrison says the redevelopment, which will create much-needed jobs and economic growth for South Australia.

“SkyCity is committed to developing a world-class, integrated entertainment destination in Adelaide, attracting both international and domestic visitors,” Mr Morrison said in a statement.

“This new offering will help South Australia attract a bigger share of high-value international visitors.”

SkyCity says with the project approved it hopes to start construction by mid-year.
