ICC Sydney shows off around Australia

Last week the International Convention Centre Sydney hit the road to showcase the premier venue set to take the world’s event industry by storm.

Clients from Canberra and Melbourne were invited to exclusive events to explore Australia’s world class international convention, exhibition and entertainment precinct and meet key contacts within the ICC Sydney team.

The roadshow kicked off in Canberra on Tuesday with a breakfast event, followed by two events held at the Melbourne Museum.

Presentations allowed clients to experience the venue’s design, features and capacity ahead of its December 2016 opening through a range of innovative tools, including a virtual look inside through a video overlaying 3D modelling and real footage.

Also making an appearance was the ICC Sydney venue model along with detailed floor plans of each level, allowing clients to discover the scale and quality of the rooms as well as the venue’s integration in an interactive way.

The roadshow provided an opportunity for attendees to meet the experienced executive team, which included chief executive officer Geoff Donaghy, general manager Adam Mather-Brown, director of business development Beverley Parker and director of communications Samantha Glass, as they shared ICC Sydney’s vision and capabilities.

“The interactive showcase provided us with the opportunity to meet clients and showcase ICC Sydney’s striking architectural design, which folds into its surrounds, further exciting and informing the industry with our progress and the grand capabilities they will be able to experience,” Donaghy said.

“With the ability to host three major concurrent conventions, large scale exhibitions as well as entertainment performances and celebrations, corporate meetings and small gatherings, our guests were able to recognise the flexibility, connectivity and prime location of Australia’s first fully-integrated international convention, exhibition and entertainment precinct.”

The team were back in Melbourne presenting to a national audience after presenting to a global audience at AIME in February when ICC Sydney was awarded the Stand Innovation Award.

The roadshow follows a successful launch event in Sydney in June, which was opened by the NSW Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, the Hon. Andrew Constance MP.

Ahead of its December 2016 opening, ICC Sydney will have three months and 20-25 events to fully test and commission every element and service across every inch of the venue, while providing in-situ staff training.
