Iconic Sheraton on the Park reveals new name

Sheraton on the Park has reinvented itself with a luxe $50 million makeover and a brand new name.

The iconic five-star hotel has revealed that it will now be known as Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park.

General Manager David Fraser said the hotel’s recent refurbishment had supported its elevation to Sheraton Grand.

“When we commenced our renovations we sought to reimagine the elegance and sophistication of a luxury apartment into our guestroom design by creating a more refined and residential experience,” he said.

“We wanted to set ourselves up for the future by ensuring the new design reflects the more modern direction of the hotel but pays homage to its heritage.”

Located in some of the world’s most treasured destinations, Sheraton Grand hotels are recognised for their cultivated sense of design, exceptional service, exemplary dining concepts and exquisite spa experiences.

Regularly recognised amongst the world’s best, the Elizabeth St hotel recently collected two major accolades at the prestigious 25th annual World Travel Awards (Australasia’s Leading Hotel and Australia’s Leading Suite) in Hong Kong.

“We are honoured to receive the coveted designation of Sheraton Grand” Mr Fraser said. “It is a wonderful testament to the exceptional level of service provided by our team.”

As a part of its global transformation efforts, Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is reclaiming its position as the world’s gathering place, welcoming locals and guests on an unexpected journey of their city without ever leaving the hotel. The Heart for the City global experiential tour will bring to the life unique characteristics that define the culture of seven key destinations, including the new Sheraton Grand Sydney.

Sydney’s Heart for the City activation from November 16 to 21 will bring to life the iconic and unexpected places, moments and traditions that make Sydney one of the most-exciting cities in the world.
