The Big Cheese with Daniel Muhor, General Manager, Primus Hotel Sydney

Daniel takes some time to talk fearlessness, his hankering for a six-pack and the joys of the industry.

The great thing about my job is… meeting new people, hosting and being a guest at the many great events the industry offers.

The challenge for industry is… retaining good talent.

My greatest achievement is… successfully opening four 5 star hotels in the past 10 years in 4 different countries.

The biggest thing in MICE this year will be… the opening of the Sydney ICC.

I try to relax by… spending time with family and friends enjoying good food and wine.

I don’t understand why… the hospitality industry in Australia is not seen as a preferred career choice for the young generation.

My favourite venue is… Oberoi Armavilas, Agra, India with an amazing view of the Taj Mahal, peaceful, serene and majestic.

I’ve always wanted to travel to… Istanbul, Turkey.

I am scared to death of… nothing really.

I can’t live without… my wife.

I really wish I had… a six pack.

If I could invite four people to a dinner party, they’d be… Russell Crowe, Kim Kardashian, Arnold Schwarzenegger, my wife Natalie.

For anyone starting out in the industry one piece of advice I’d give would be… the industry can be extremely rewarding but you must be committed from day one and set long term goals.
