AIME News in Brief: Tuesday February 11
By admin

AIME provides the “ideal platform” for the Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) to promote its Power of Exhibitions message, according to chief executive Joyce DiMascio.

The association will spread the campaign’s messaging through its stand activities and its involvement in Business Events Week in a bid to help educate exhibitors about how to get more out of the exhibition, and also to grow government, media and community awareness about the importance of business events.

It will also hold its first Young Stars event for the year during the expo. The Young Stars and Leaders Table will be held at Cargo Hall at South Wharf Promenade on February 19 with guest leader David Elia of HOSTPLUS, one of the funding partners of Darling Harbour Live.

Tourism Portfolio will return to AIME for the second year running in 2014 and will share its stand for the first time with five of its key clients.

These include US-based Lizard IncentEvents, Dubai-based Gulf Ventures, The Byron at Byron Resort, Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort and Riverside Oaks.

The combined presence will make it easier for buyers to learn about Tourism Portfolio clients, according to managing director Donna Kessler.

“It also demonstrates the broad range of products and services our company’s clients now offer and their commitment to the Australian market,” she said.

A team of three senior executives from Asian destination management company PC Tours, will arrive in Australia this week with the aim of growing business from Australia.

Company director S N Chui, general manager Cary Chui and MICE director Nicole Frack will attend AIME in Melbourne, with Chui also to visit Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth with news of a range of new services and facilities for Australian wholesalers.

ICE Australia will exhibit at AIME for the first time, following its close collaboration with the show’s organisers to deliver its two-day educational and informative program.

The Knowledge program includes topics and speakers that have been “carefully selected” to be beneficial for delegates, according to the company.
