It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of long-time TG staffer Vivian Tama over the weekend.
Viv’s travel career spanned 4 decades with a stint at TAA in the 70’s followed by a retail career at Tama Travel and Profi Travel before joining TG’s SYD Ticketing Office in 2001. Viv’s battle with cancer has been an inspiration to her many industry friends and family. She will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure to work with and alongside her.
Viv’s family has advised they will celebrate her life on Thursday, 06Oct16 at St Marks Catholic Church, 33 Tranmere St, Drummoyne, starting at 12.30pm. They have requested in lieu of flowers to kindly donate to the Chris O’Brien Life House Hospital.
Etihad extends reach in Africa through new codeshare agreement with kulula.com
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, continues to build its presence in Africa through a new codeshare agreement with kulula, South Africa’s award-winning low cost carrier.
The codeshare deal offers Etihad Airways customers flight options to a number of key cities in South Africa that include Cape Town, Durban, George and East London via Johannesburg.
Etihad Airways will place its EY code on kulula’s scheduled flights between Johannesburg and these popular coastal cities. This agreement allows guests access to through-check-in and baggage transfer to their final destination.
The new codeshare services will go on sale from 3 October 2016, with travel from the start of the Northern Winter schedule on 30 October.
ANA Holds “Paint the Plane Contest”
ANA will upgrade the aircraft on its Tokyo-Honolulu route to the spacious, double-decker Airbus A380 starting in autumn 2019. To commemorate the deployment of these three new aircraft, ANA is inviting both pro and aspiring amateur artists to submit designs that will get people excited about visiting the tropical island paradise. The Grand Prize winner will receive a pair of round trip tickets in economy class between Tokyo and Honolulu, while runners up will receive original ANA souvenirs.
To enter, contestants submit their designs between October 7th and November 30th either by mail or at the official website (https://ana-a380contest.jp/en/). Please see the website for details. The ANA Contest Office will select the Grand Prize and other winners in February 2017.
