Tigerair Australia expands Queensland footprint

Tigerair Australia has announced that a third A320 aircraft will be based in Brisbane from late March 2017 to facilitate a number of additional and new services from the airline’s Queensland base and in the process create over 50 additional jobs in Brisbane.

Two new routes announced today between Brisbane and Perth and between Brisbane and Whitsunday Coast go on sale at 1.00pm AEDT in a special Brisbane themed sale to celebrate the new services.

From 1 June 2017, Tigerair will operate the only low cost services between Brisbane and Perth with a standard schedule of four weekly return services, increasing up to six times weekly in peak periods such as school holidays.

Four weekly return services between Brisbane and the Whitsunday Coast will commence from 23 March 2017.

On top of the new routes, Tigerair is also adding services to a number of Tigerair’s existing popular Queensland routes, including four additional weekly return services between Brisbane and Cairns, two additional return services between Sydney and Whitsunday Coast Airport and a weekly return service between Brisbane and Adelaide all commencing from late March 2017.

Malaysia Airlines Announces New Routes to Kota Kinabalu and Kuching from Penang

In a bid to serve passenger demands, Malaysia Airlines will be operating flights between Penang, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching from 18 November 2016. The national carrier will be operating this route seasonally to coincide with the peak holiday period until December 2016. The service resumes again during the Chinese New Year period.

Both Penang – Kuching and Penang – Kota Kinabalu services will be operated four times weekly. Schedule is as follows:
Sarawak
MH2725 Kuching to Penang 9.20am/ 11.30am on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays
MH2724 Penang to Kuching 12pm/ 3pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays

Sabah
MH2732 Penang to Kota Kinabalu 12.05pm/ 3.05pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays
MH2733 Kota Kinabalu to Penang 3.40pm/ 6.30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays

Cebu Pacific launches Beach Bum Academy competition
