Crowne unveils multi-million-dollar redesign of Coogee Beach property

Crowne Plaza Sydney Coogee Beach is set to re-position itself as a leading meetings and events hotel, following a multi-million-dollar redesign.

The refresh includes a purpose-built events centre, 10 new flexible meetings spaces, and new event dining concepts and menus.

The meeting spaces will also have the latest in audio-visual technology built in and offer multi-room connectivity, giving meeting planners the ability to livestream content to all rooms simultaneously.

Furthermore, the redesign will include the ‘Studio’ – an area which can be used either as a private meeting or event space, or as a social shared work space.

Supporting the new events spaces, the hotel’s new restaurant and bar concepts – set to feature Australian bush tucker – will be opened in stages.

As part of the redesign, the hotel’s 209 guest rooms will receive a fresh look, reflective of the hotel’s seaside location, which includes a complete refit of all the bathrooms. Ten new guest rooms will also be added to the hotel.

The first phase of a redesign is set to be completed in early January, and will include half of the guest rooms, a new lobby and arrival experience.

Crowne area general manager Gareth Long said flexibility was key to meeting the demands of today’s MICE market.

“In terms of location, the Crowne Plaza Sydney Coogee Beach is second to none,” he said.

“What we can now offer guests is much more flexibility when it comes to staying here on business, with upgraded technology, smarter use of our social spaces and responding better to the changing ways in which people do business.”
