Gold Coast secures record number of conferences

Gold Coast Business Events recorded a bumper month of wins for conferences and meetings in June, with an estimated economic impact of around $17 million for the local economy.

Interest in the city is reaching an all-time high, with the team at Gold Coast Business Events securing 27 future national and international conferences for the city. The record month will see around 11,000 delegates attend future business events on the Gold Coast over the next few years.

Gold Coast Business Events Director Anna Case announced the results today, noting it was a “fantastic outcome for the city, and demonstrates the unquestionable appeal the Gold Coast has for delivering world class conferences.”

“We know conferences on the Gold Coast typically attract record delegate numbers; conference delegates love the winning combination of venues, experiences, cuisine and sunshine. This message is obviously coming through loud and clear to conference decision makers, as reflected in these record breaking results,” Case said.

“These decision makers appreciate the ease of organising a conference in a city that offers the high service standards and venue quality of a huge international city, but with the benefits of a compact, easily accessible beachside destination,” according Case.
