International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) has announced the promotion of Michelle Zangari to the role of senior manager, Live Events.

Building on her experience as ICC Sydney’s manager, Ticketing and Bookings in the Live Events team, Michelle has stepped up to lead the Live Events segment, looking after the calendar of dynamic entertainment events held at the 8,000-seat ICC Sydney Theatre and 2,500-seat Darling Harbour Theatre.

Having joined ICC Sydney in 2016, Michelle’s talent was quickly identified, and she was promoted to ticketing manager. In 2021, she was elevated to the role of manager, Bookings and Ticketing in recognition of her commercial acumen.

Entertainment promoters can expect to see Zangari drawing on her extensive seven years’ experience nurturing ICC Sydney’s events market, including her contribution to the venue’s record-breaking year of entertainment events in 2023.

Zangari leads nine Live Events team members delivering event management, operations, ticketing, booking, business development, partnerships and merchandise management. This long-serving team brings a deep understanding and passion for Live Events concerts, performances and sporting events.

Speaking of her appointment, Zangari said she was thankful for the opportunity to channel her energy into growing this critical market segment as the venue welcomes an influx of patrons to an expanding calendar of international and local entertainment shows.

Zangari said: “I am thrilled to lead the team that collaborates with such dynamic entertainment promoters from all over the world. It is inspiring to work with clients who are passionate, creative, visionary and dedicated to producing the most engaging and exciting content for people of all ages.”

ICC Sydney director of Event Services, Malu Barrios, said she is looking forward to seeing this market segment continue to flourish under Zangari’s leadership.

“Live Events provide great economic and social benefits to our community. By delivering a broad range of engaging events, ICC Sydney’s Live Events team not only elevates patrons’ happiness and wellbeing, but also contributes to Sydney’s world-renowned reputation as an energised, desirable and vibrant events destination. Having Michelle lead her team to deliver entertainment events is an extremely positive development for ICC Sydney,” Barrios said.

Having operated in the world of music business management and events for over 18 years, Michelle Zangari has an in-depth knowledge of the industry and understands the requirements necessary to develop and implement successful events.
