Luxperience lures Latin Americans

Luxperience recently hosted an event in Canberra due to the overwhelming interest from and for Latin American destinations to attend Luxperience, held annually in Sydney in September.

Senior staff from nine of the 13 nations with consular representation in Australia attended the briefing to discuss the increase in high end product in the region and the growing desire for Australians to travel to Central and South America.

According to First Secretary and Consul of Guatemala, Mario Rodriguez, Guatemala is the number one destination in Central America for Australians.

One of the key factors to increase tourism between Australia and Latin America discussed at the event is the need to streamline the visa process between all parties. Another topic was the increase in flight availability between Central and South America and Australia enabling airlines to offer competitive airfares, which is ensuring easier access for Australians to the destination.

Luxperience luxury brand strategist Michelle Papas said, “Luxperience is attracting more luxury and experiential exhibitors from Latin America which is perfectly coupled with the demand expressed by our discerning buyers for an increase in number and variety of exhibitors from the region. Naturally Cuba is of high interest.”

Luxperience will be happening in a new venue for 2017, Carriageworks, in Sydney from 17-20 September. It is an invitation-only event dedicated to the high-end experiential travel sector and the only such event in the southern hemisphere.
