Major Australian event management company taken over

Three years after opening The Appointment Group Asia Pacific, Managing Director, Shane Barr, has announced the group’s acquisition of a major Sydney based events company, Axis Events, founded by events industry leader, Paul Christie.

The Appointment Group is a multiple award winning, independently owned Global Events and Corporate Travel Management company with nine (9) offices across Australia, United Kingdom, United States and Singapore. It was founded in the UK and has been operating for over 28 years.

The acquisition has created one of Australia’s most experienced, professional and creative independent event and corporate travel management companies providing personalised global event management solutions to meet the needs of clients around the clock.

Heading up The Appointment Group Asia Pacific is Managing Director, Shane Barr who brings over 20 years’ industry experience across three continents. Leading and managing the events division will be Laura Tucker, General Manager, Global Events for Asia Pacific.

As part of the acquisition, The Appointment Group welcomes 28 Axis Events staff into their team with a planned recruitment drive to create new event management and business development roles. With offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Singapore, this will create one of Australia’s strongest and biggest events companies in the market.
