Puerto Rico will host the world’s largest sangria tasting event, which annually brings together the best local sangria manufacturers.

Event organisers have released a communique saying that the Sangria Fest, on March 5, with more than 50 exhibitors, will be held at the Puerto Rico Convention Center.

The event, besides sangria, will also offer a wide variety of homemade food, wines and beers.

Kona Grill, Texas de Brasil, Italian House & Grill, Sabor a Mexico, Chile Verde, Piero’s Latin Cusine, Tijuanas and Downtown are some of the local restaurants that will participate in the event.

Part of the funds collected from the contest will be allocated to the Iniciativa Comunitaria non-profit organisation.

The event includes a sangria competition in the restaurants and brands categories, managed by the Bartenders Association of Puerto Rico, which will evaluate the aroma, taste and appearance of the various competing brands.

The objective of the event is for the public to have the opportunity to get to know and taste the products currently on the market and to support local consumption.
