Pullman Sydney Airport’s Nouveau Art Night

The Pullman brand made a bold statement last week to celebrate the opening of Pullman Sydney Airport with a Pullman Art Night – the first event of its kind in Australia.

In celebration of the first internationally branded new-build 5-star hotel to service the Sydney Airport precinct, the Pullman Art Night featured a spectacular showcase of contemporary art by Gillie and Marc, best known for their iconic sculpture characters, Rabbitgirl and Dogman.

A crowd of over 200 guests from the travel and tourism industry gathered to celebrate the launch of the new 12-story, 229-room Pullman Sydney Airport hotel, which represents the 15th Pullman branded hotel to open across Australia and New Zealand and the 700th property to join AccorHotels rapidly expanding network in the Asia Pacific region.

Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events and Minister for Sport, The Hon. Stuart Ayres officially opened the hotel with a ceremonial plaque unveiling with AccorHotels Chief Operating Officer Pacific, Simon McGrath and Pullman Sydney Airport General Manager Bernie Boller. Hotel owner/developers Goodman Group joined in the celebrations alongside Nanshan, who will take over ownership of the hotel next month.

Throughout the evening, guests were entertained by a roving magician and live band ‘Myall High Club’, whilst enjoying a tipple from the pop-up Tattinger Champagne bar, gin bar and freshly shucked Signature Oysters.

In a theatrical display, Executive Chef Daniel Simpson served up plates of chargrilled Kobe and Alaskan crab from the hotel’s open kitchen – Mobius Bar & Grill – showcasing Pullman hotel’s Tapastry style menu’s, inspired by Pullman’s culinary ambassador, Justin North.

Chief Operating Officer AccorHotels Pacific, Simon McGrath, said “Dubbed Sydney’s ‘newest business playground’, Pullman Sydney Airport is a welcoming sanctuary for business and leisure guests. The upscale hotel will be an important addition to Sydney’s hotel scene which is experiencing consistently high occupancies, and help to accommodate the 40 million passengers which pass through Sydney Airport each year.”
