Staging Connections snapped up by US firm

Staging Connections will retain its brand under its acquisition by global brand experience company Freeman, announced on Wednesday.

The deal will see Australia-based Staging Connections Group Limited (SCGL) become part of Freeman’s audio visual division giving the US-based company an instant presence in the ANZPAC region through SCGL’s network of 15 offices through Australia, New Zealand, China, Singapore and Fiji.

“As our clients are expanding globally, they want the same level of Freeman quality, service, technology and support in markets around the world,” Freeman chief executive Joe Popolo said.

He identified “tremendous” growth opportunities by combining the two companies.

President of Freeman Audio Visual Ken Sanders referred to a long history of working together.

“There couldn’t be a better fit for Freeman as we continue to expand into global markets,” he said. “

Meanwhile, SCGL managing director Tony Chamberlain said the synergies between the two companies included their “customer-centric” approach to event delivery.

The acquisition was approved by SCGL’s shareholders at their shareholder meeting on September 24 and then by the Australian Federal Court on October 1.
