The Big Cheese with Elizabeth Georgopoulos

The Big Cheese with Elizabeth Georgopoulos

We chat to the Director of Sales Business Travel for Accor Australia.

The great thing about my job is… the people! Working with fabulous clients and colleagues in this electric and additive industry.

The challenge for industry is…ensuring that we are ready for the business traveller of the future…Connected, social, informed and has autonomy of their own journey through smart devices and new innovative platforms.

My greatest achievement is… helping my grandfather achieve a lifetime ambition of returning back to Hiroshima Japan after 55 years.

The biggest thing in MICE this year will be… more a greater focus on local farm to table concepts sustainability sourced menus  and new digital platforms such as accorconferences.com.au.

I try to relax by… swimming and surrounding myself with positive people

I don’t understand why… some people are resistant of change.

Currently the album playing on my iPod is… Taylor Swift

My favourite venue is… It would have to be an Accor venue, but as we offer more than 200 places to celebrate and meet, it would be impossible to name just one as my preferred from my many favourites. In terms of new venues though, I do love The Ternary, which has just launched at the Novotel Sydney On Darling Harbour.

I am scared to death of… snakes.

I can’t live without… laughter.

Blackberry or iPhone... iphone.

I really wish I had… a helicopter, they are so much fun and I would never be stuck in traffic again..

If I could invite four people to a dinner party, they’d be…, Sheryl Sandberg, Roger Federer, George Clooney and Michael Buble.
