Which Sydney hotel is raking in the rewards?
Ovolo Hotels celebrates its 1st anniversary in Australia with 4 industry awards!
Coming off the recent win for Australian GM of the Year and commendation for Hotel Brand and APAC Hotelier of the year at the HM Awards, Ovollo Hotels is on track for one of its most successful years to-date in industry recognition and accolades, thanks to a new series of award wins.
Just in time to celebrate its 1-year anniversary since officially launching in Australia, the hotel group picked up the award for Australia’s Best Design Boutique Hotel and Best City Explorer Boutique Hotel for Ovolo Woolloomooloo and Ovolo 1888 Darling Harbour respectively at the 2016 World Boutique Hotel Awards.
These wins come off the heels of Ovolo achieving “Australia’s Top Contemporary/Stylish Luxury Hotel” for Ovolo Woolloomooloo and “Hong Kong’s Top Luxury Design Hotel” for Ovolo Southside at the 2016 World Luxury Hotel Awards. Competing against a number of world-class hotel brands, Ovolo Hotels has received unwavering validation for its approach to disruptive hospitality through the four wins.
Since launching in Australia one year ago, Ovolo has been on a mission to redefine what effortless living is all about in hotel accommodation. Throughout this year, Ovolo 1888 Darling Harbour and Ovolo Woolloomooloo have welcomed more than 60,000 guests, climbed the ranks of TripAdvisor from mid-40 ranking to Top 10 hotels and revitalised the neighbourhoods of Darling Harbour & Woolloomooloo into ever greater must-visit destinations for Sydneysiders and visitors alike.
Ovolo Hotels’ Australian Director of Operations & Finance, Mr. Dave Baswal, commented on the group’s success.
“With the addition of these four awards, Ovolo will have achieved 18 industry recognitions, commendations and wins for 2016. It’s not so much pride I’m filled with, rather humility. I’m humbled to see how incredible the response and recognition has been from industry peers and the public alike. I couldn’t ask for a better present for our first birthday! This has been an incredible year of success for Ovolo, and we want to give something special back to our fans for making it possible, ” he shared.
Celebrate birthdays with Ovolo
In celebration of its first birthday in Australia, Ovolo has launched a new plan to spoil guests celebrating their own special day. Starting from November, all Ovolo guests celebrating their birthday will get the royal treatment while staying at any of the group’s Australian properties – kicking off with a birthday-themed room, as well as a special badge entitling them to a suite of surprises throughout their special stay. Surprises will range from special F&B offerings at the hotel’s dining outlets, selfie sticks, a special hotel-wide music playlist, to even a signature cocktail at the hotel bar, named just after them.
When it comes to the top-end rooms at our hotels, guests have described it in several ways. But one common phrase used has always been “Rock Star”. To celebrate our birthday, Ovolo is giving away a two night stay in a Rock Star Suite to one lucky Aussie fan! The rules are simple:
- Fans must find and snap a selfie with their favourite “rock star” celebrity
- Tag the celebrity’s own Instagram page
Share it on Instagram with the tags @ovolowoolloomooloo or @ovolo1888darlingharbour as well as #OvoloBirthday
That’s it! The entrant who takes a photo with the celebrity sporting the highest Instagram following will win a $3,200-valued two-night stay at either:
- AC/DC or INXS @ Ovolo Woolloomooloo (Sydney)
- Shaken or Stirred @ Ovolo 1888 Darling Harbour (Sydney)
- The Penthouse Suite @ Ovolo Laneways (Melbourne)
The competition is open until end of November. More details available at: marketing@ovologroup.com.
Summer Rate Lockdown Ahead!
With summer coming, Ovolo’s offering one more birthday incentive with its “Rock Out in Your Birthday Suit” promotion. From now until the end of January, Ovolo’s Australian hotel’s rates are on lockdown starting from just AU$239 a night with guaranteed room upgrades! More details available at: www.ovolohotels.com.
