Take a tour of Virgin Atlantic’s Upper Class

A new “immersive” digital product from Virgin Atlantic will enable business travellers to experience an Upper Class flight without taking to the skies.

The Immersive Digital Adventure has been created in partnership with Microsoft and features specially created content that acts as a virtual Upper Class journey all the way through from check-in to landing.

Viewed through a headset, the 360-degree tour will be shown to corporate customers by Virgin Atlantic’s sales experts using a Windows 10 tablet and phone.

The airline said the launch would ‘revolutionise” its approach to trade events and would enable customers to experience its product from anywhere in the world.

“Our people are our magic element and it’s incredibly important for us to find technology solutions to supercharge them to deliver an even better experience,” senior vice president marketing and customer experience Reuben Arnold said.

Meanwhile, corporate vice president Windows and devices group Yusuf Mehdi underlined the need for companies to push beyond traditional marketing campaigns to reach customers in “new and unexpected” ways.

“With Windows 10, we helped Virgin Atlantic create an engaging experience that meets business travellers where they are during their work day, whether they’re walking to their office or grabbing lunch, the goal is to surprise and delight them and show them how they can fly in style,” he said.
