Sofitel is set to open a 57 story hotel in the Chinese city of Guiyang that will become the developing city’s tallest building.

Opening in 2014, the Sofitel Guiyangwill target business clients with five meeting rooms, a club executive lounge and a fully-equipped business centre. A roof top restaurant is also designed to take advantage of the skyscraper’s views.

The new property comes as Sofitel looks to expand its network across China, with 27 hotels in Greater China set to be in operation by 2015.

Upon completion, the property will be 30 minutes from the international airport and 20 minutes from the new convention centre in Jinyang district.
