Business Events Week

The inaugural Business Events Week will kick off in Melbourne next week, with more than 50 events to take place during the one week program.

Headlined by AIME 2013, the program will also feature presentations from the Exhibition & Event Association of Australia, Tourism and Transport Forum and Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The program will run from February 25 through to March 1.

Pullman offer

Pullman Cairns International is rewarding meeting planners with spa treatments for all multi-day conference bookings of 20 delegates or more.

Valid at the hotel’s Mii Spa, the offer only applies to bookings made and held in 2013.

Tiger to Coffs

Tiger Airways has commenced services from Sydney to Coffs Harbor, marking the carrier’s first intrastate NSW route.

Four weekly return services are now in operation, with a fifth service to commence on Saturdays from March 31.

Tiger will be the only low fare operator on the Sydney to Coffs Harbour route, offering 1,800 weekly seats.

Alice Springs ahead

Alice Springs Airport is set to receive a makeover, with upgrades to all retail and food and beverage services in the pipeline.

Construction has now commenced, with the initial fit-out period scheduled for completion in June.

The announcement comes as Tiger Airways launches flights to the Red Centre in April and Jetstar commences direct services from Sydney in June.

Surfers offer

Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa is offering group room rates from $199 for meeting or event bookings of at least 50 rooms per night.

The offer only applies to new bookings confirmed and deposited by March 31 for travel before June 30.
