The great thing about my job is… The opportunity to change someone’s life by helping them develop or be recognised for the skills required to obtain a qualification within our industry.  I love seeing the sense of achievement it brings to the individual.

The challenge for my industry is… Maintaining quality training programs in the wake of government funding cuts.

My greatest achievement is… Being a participant in my own life and guiding it where I want it to go. I’ve had a great life so far.

The biggest thing in MICE this year will be… As with all businesses in this rapidly and ever changing world, staying up to date with the needs of clients, and expanding on emerging markets.

I try to relax by… Listening to talking books on my drive to and from work.  It’s a great way to switch off, as I never have time to read at home.

I don’t understand why… Some people are so negative. Whenever I feel bad, I look at the people who are surrounding me and try to eliminate the negative influences.

Currently the album playing on my iPod is… I really like movie soundtracks as you get all the best songs from different artists, so at the minute I have the soundtrack from “P.S. I love you”.

My favourite venue is… Too many to narrow it down, but favourite restaurant hands down is The Fat Duck in Brae.  Still the best meal of my life to date.

I am scared to death of… Regret.  I had to learn the hard way about living with regret, so I now assess my actions in life in the terms of this.  It really makes you challenge yourself at times too.

I can’t live without… Laughter. It is one of the greatest medicines I know.

Blackberry, iPhone or android… I have an android phone.

I really wish I had… A dollar for every time someone has asked me “How tall are you”?

If I could invite four people to a dinner party, they’d be… Billy Connolly, Robin Williams, Adam Hills and Michael Parkinson.  Michael would have to keep control of the conversation as I would be doubled over from laughing all night.
