Aussie first: Dorsett Gold Coast’s grand opening

Dorsett Gold Coast officially opened its doors and welcomed its first guests on Boxing Day, marking the first Dorsett hotel to open in Australia.

The upscale hotel boasts 313 vibrant hotel rooms set within The Star Gold Coast’s entertainment and leisure precinct.

Featuring design elements inspired by the local spirit, Dorsett Gold Coast showcases artwork by Gold Coast locals, including the breathtaking chandelier and 750kg sculpted marble check-in desks in the lobby.

Situated just a stone’s throw away from the golden sands of Broadbeach’s patrolled beaches, the hotel’s rooms feature ocean and hinterland views, with VIP guests treated to the stunning Gold Coast panorama from the Executive Lounge on Level 19.

The cosy Jin Cafe and Bar beside the lobby provides an intimate space to hide away and relax with a coffee or cocktail.

“We know that travellers and locals are always on the lookout for new and exciting experiences. As a brand-new build, Dorsett Gold Coast provides a fresh and fun way for people to enjoy the very best of our city,” Dorsett Gold Coast general manager Michael Foster said.

“Everyone who checks in will receive a special Dorsett Discoveries booklet, which will provide insider knowledge to our guests so they can live like a local while visiting the Gold Coast.”

With a mission to become a leading force in sustainable travel, Dorsett Gold Coast offers eco-friendly features such as paperless check-in and automatic lighting within the rooms. To provide travellers with peace of mind in the post-COVID landscape, the hotel also includes health-conscious contactless check-in and other safety features.

The $400 million development was funded by The Star Entertainment Group and its consortium partners from Hong Kong, Chow Tai Fook Enterprises and Far East Consortium.

New-build Dorsett Hotels are currently also under construction in Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth, set to open in the coming years.
