Bridgerton is back! Live the REAL Colin & Penelope experience

Unless you have been living under the most unexciting of rocks, you would have noticed that one of Netflix’s most popular shows – Bridgerton – has returned to screens.

The racy Regency romp first caused a stir back on Christmas Day in 2020 and has gone from strength to strength ever since. The latest instalment focuses on the likeable but hapless Penelope Featherington who has spent the last two series pining after her friend, and unrequited love, Colin Bridgerton.

Thankfully, fans of the show don’t have to just live out their Bridgerton fantasies in their head, because the tourism industry has been quick to jump on the Regency bandwagon. Here’s some of the top ways you can live the Bridgerton experience (romance not included):

The Bath & Bridgerton With Music Walking Tour, Bath, UK

Back in January, Travel Weekly visited the British city of Bath on a VisitBritain famil where we got to experience for ourselves the Bath & Bridgerton With Music Walking Tour.

Our truly exceptional guide broke down the nitty gritty of where and how the show was filmed in the streets of Bath. Tourists are able to visit the Royal Crescent (which Daphne famously rides past when she moves to stop Anthony and Simon dueling), the modiste where the ’ton ladies are decorated, and find out the (ahem) very cheeky reason Anthony Bridgerton’s al fresco adult scene had to be reshot.

The tour really is a must for fans of the show.

Bridgerton is set in the early 1800s, known as the Regency era when the garden landscapes were full of extravagant water features, topiaries and bright flower displays. Flowering shrubs, lakes, temples and follies are also considered characteristic of gardens from the Georgian period.

The British aristocracy enjoyed going on walks and hosting parties in these gardens which explains their grandeur. There are several country estates across the UK that have been preserved and offer visitors a glimpse into 19th-century England. Some of them have even been used as filming locations for the show.

Experience Bridgerton with Norwegian Cruise Line

Relive the destinations that have inspired the whimsical series, including London and Portland, England, with a Northern Europe sailing with Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL).

Fans of the series might best enjoy Norwegian’s nine – to-14-day Europe voyages with calls to London (Tilbury) where guests will feel transported back in time as they visit Greenwich, the filming location of many of the show’s picturesque backdrops, such as the Bridgerton family’s iconic fictional home, Lady Danbury’s Somerset house, and the Royal Naval College where the show’s market scenes took place.

Sailing from London (Southampton), guests may opt to embark on a 10- to 12-day British Isles cruise calling to enchanting fairytale-like ports across the United Kingdom such as Edinburgh, Scotland; Dublin, Ireland; and Portland, England. In Portland, guests can visit the city of Bath, notable for its Georgian architecture including the Royal Crescent, the architectural marvel used in the series as the Featherington family’s home.
