Demand up for MEETINGS

Interest from North American incentive buyers to attend the upcoming CINZ MEETINGS in New Zealand in June has surged, organisers say.

With buyer applications closing on 10 April, Conventions and Incentives New Zealand (CINZ) Chief Executive Sue Sullivan says demand to attend New Zealand’s largest business events trade show have surged this year.

“We are delighted with the excellent field of exhibitors already signed up, and the speed of reaction to our call for hosted buyers this year,” Sullivan said.

With 90 spots available for Australian buyers and another 90 for New Zealand buyers, Tourism New Zealand and Air New Zealand have also invested to bring 35 international buyers, and report a surge of interest from North American incentive buyers this year.

New exhibitors attending this year include Northland and Wanaka, and attendees can expect the return of the Luxury Collection which was launched for the first time in 2014.

Australian hosted buyers are reportedly keen to experience other New Zealand destinations, signing up for pre-tours to Hamilton and Waikato, Rotorua, Taupo, Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch and Canterbury, Queenstown, and Dunedin.

“Our Australian guests see this as a really valuable opportunity to relax and experience the regions first hand before they get down to work at MEETINGS,” Sullivan said.

MEETINGS’ social programme will be also be a key highlight again.

“We will be showcasing New Zealand’s renowned hospitality and creative talents with a host of networking opportunities across three days,” she says.

“MEETINGS starts with a fabulous welcome function on 9 June, topped off by a spectacular gala dinner on 11 June. During the event we will be hosting Mix and Mingle drinks, daily lunches, and morning and afternoon teas in true Kiwi style.”

Over 220 hosted buyers and media from New Zealand, Australia and international markets, plus 400 day buyers are expected to attend CINZ MEETINGS 2015.
