Merivale snags another hot spot

Merivale has knocked another post over, taking on the Newport Arms Hotel under its hospitality wing.

Nestled on the shores of Pittwater on Sydney’s schmancy Northern Beaches, the landmark property is a strong addition to the group’s ever burgeoning range of venues across the city.

Merivale’s CEO Justin Hemmes said the hotel is a big name in Aussie hospitality.

“The Newport Arms is undoubtedly one of Australia’s most iconic pubs,” he said.

“It is a spectacular property in a beautiful location and holds a very special place in the hearts of locals. Assets as unique as the Newport Arms deserve to be celebrated; we cannot wait to join the community.”

The acquisition follows the fresh success of newly converted Coogee Pavilion.

Since launching in July 2014, the multi-themed beachside venue has been embraced by the Eastern Suburbs kids, and celebrated as a vibrant new hot spot for the destination.

Merivale will officially take possession of the property in May 2015. Further details and plans for the site will be announced in due course.
