The 3000-capacity New Zealand International Convention Centre will be on show for the first time at this year’s Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) which takes place next month in Melbourne.

The new centre is just one of a range of new venues which will be revealed to buyers at the popular show, with Hobbiton Movie Set in the Waikato region also a first-timer on the 100% Pure New Zealand stand.

Christchurch and Canterbury Convention Bureau will also be back on deck for the first time since 2011.

“It is exciting to see them back on deck, accompanied by Christchurch Convention and Exhibition Centre,” Conventions and Incentives New Zealand chief executive Sue Sullivan said.

They are part of CINZ’s 15-strong delegation to the show which will also include CINZ’ first Maori cultural ambassador for AIME, Ngahihi o te ra Bidois, who will share cultural insights with visitors to the stand.

Sullivan revealed that, for the second year, New Zealand will be treating hosted buyers to an exclusive breakfast at the 100% Pure New Zealand stand on Wednesday February 24.

“Cloudy Bay wine tastings on the first afternoon, 23 February will be another highlight for visitors, she said. “Express lunches will also be a big plus for day buyers visiting the 100% Pure New Zealand stand on both days of AIME 2016.”

AIME will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) on February 23 and 24.
