Oman Pavilion hits Milan Expo

The Sultanate of Oman has taken Oman’s ancient traditions to the international showcase of Expo Milan 2015.

The Sultanate has chosen to present not only its cultural flair, but also its plans for a sustainable future, with one of the largest pavilions of the exhibition.

In a collaborative development, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Oman – which commissioned the Pavilion – has joined forces with the Oman Ministry of Tourism and Oman Air, as major partners in the stunning 2790 square metre showcase.

“Expo is probably the greatest opportunity in the world where we can simultaneously show the main assets of our Country,” Ministry of Tourism’s director general of tourism development, Salim Bin Adi Al Mamari, said.

The pavilion’s theme, Heritage in Harvest: Harnessing the Sea, Sun and Sand, sees it divided into areas that represent water, the oasis, the sea and the traditions, an authentic representation of Oman.

His Excellency Mohsin Khamis Al Balushi , General Commissioner of Oman Pavilion at Expo 2015 and Advisor of the Oman Ministry of Commerce and Industry said, “Expo is an important opportunity to introduce our country, its history, its peculiarities as well as highlight Oman’s interest in many of the topics that gain regional and international concern, in particular those related to the central theme Expo.

“Expectations are high”, concludes Al Balushi. “We, in the Sultanate of Oman, expect that the Expo Milano 2015 event may record a historic success in terms of Italians and International visitors.”
