Tourism Philippines is proud to welcome Philippines’ most renowned chefs to Sydney as part of the 10th Annual Flavours of the Philippines Food Festival.

The event launched last week and takes place at The Grace Hotel until 13 August 2016 and features an array of Filipino celebrity chefs including: Myrna Dizon Segismundo; Raul Ramos; Anne San Diego and Mariano Catarmin Jr.

The festival includes a sumptuous buffet of well-loved Filipino classics and contemporary dishes at The Grace Hotel’s Grace Brasserie, ensuring an experience like no other.  During the two week food exploration, guests have the option of selecting from buffet lunches between Tuesday and Friday, on Sundays, as well as dinner on Friday or Saturday evenings.

Tourism Attaché at Philippine Department of Tourism Australia and New Zealand, Norjamin Delos Reyes said “the Flavours of the Philippines Food Festival is a celebration of the strengthening relations between Australia and the Philippines which has continued for the past 70 years.  Australia is currently the Philippines’ fifth largest market source with a total of 241,187 arrivals from January to December 2015. We hope that Australians enjoy the very best of the Philippines’ culinary delights over the next two weeks.  Events like this help celebrate the growing bonds between our two countries.”

Attending guests of the festival will not only experience some incredible food but also go into the draw to win a trip to Palawan, awarded Best Island in the World by Conde Nast Traveller 2014-2015 and Travel + Leisure 2016.  The major prize includes flights with Philippine Airlines and accommodation in a fabulous resort with plenty of other giveaways to also be won.

“Filipino food is a subtle mix of its Asian neighbours as well as featuring influences from its early Spanish colonisation.  This year, the incredible group of celebrity chefs will be bring together a mix of traditional and modern cuisines emphasising the Philippines’ love of seafood, tropical fruits and a distinct use of naturally sour and salty flavours.  Expect to be served an array of exotic, succulent, spicy and aromatic dishes over the two weeks,” Delos Reyes added.
