Royal treatment for Melbourne Cup goers

2014 Melbourne Cup

Emirates has announced it will be dedicating the theme of its Melbourne Cup Carnival marquee this year to England, in a royal salute to the birth of Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge.

Celebrating 12 years as Principle Partner of the Emirates Melbourne Cup this year, Emirates will transform its marquee to take guests on a journey through England, to herald its route network to London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Newcastle.

The Emirates marquee has hosted its fair share of royals, including British Royal Zara Phillips, Prince Charles, Princess Diana, and Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall.

Another royal regular includes Freddie Fox, the Australian-born British milliner to the royal family, who has designed more than 350 hats for the Queen.

Emirates begins planning months before the first race of the cup, with names of international guests already being discussed.
