The Big Cheese with Sian Armour, DIRECTOR OF SALES & MARKETING, HOLIDAY INN SYDNEY AIRPORT

The great thing about my job is…I have the pleasure of working with a very talented team where each day is different to the next keeping it exciting and challenging.

The challenge for industry is…to ensure we are one step-ahead of our guests expectations and to continue to seek innovation along the way.

My greatest achievement is…leading and developing my team to see them transform and flourish into their next career move within the company.

I try to relax by…catching up with friends & family and travelling to different places around the world.

I don’t understand why…people burn bridges as you never know where you’ll meet someone again.

My favourite venue is…Biggles Bar at Holiday Inn Sydney Airport of course! I love its relaxed and casual atmosphere #bestbarinmascot

I’ve always wanted to travel to…Machu Picchu, Cuba and Myanmar.

I am scared to death of…confined spaces.

I can’t live without…my husband & children.

I really wish I had…the knowledge that I have now back in my 20s.

If I could invite four people to a dinner party, they’d be…Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela, Barack Obama and Prince Harry!

For anyone starting out in the industry one piece of advice I’d give would be ….never rest on your laurels – prepare to continually develop yourself and surround yourself with great mentors to guide and assist you throughout your career journey.
