InterContinental offers a lesson in business dinner etiquette
By admin

A free lesson in mastering the art of the business dinner is on offer from InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, as the firm shares tips drawn from its extensive experience in a brand new manual.

The Insider Guide to the Perfect Business Dinner draws upon the insider knowledge of both InterContinental staff members and external industry representatives in order to “empower” guests on their travels.

The 28-page glossy manual enables guests to make “informed decisions” when they plan or attend a business dinner in a city away from home, according to the hotel firm. It includes practical tips, including those on cultural guidance, ways of greeting, rules of conversation, and the importance of attire and gifts in various countries.

InterContinental director brand management Bruce Ryde stressed that the business world has evolved.

“These days, formal meetings in an office setting can only take you so far – the meal outside of the boardroom is what's integral to building that positive relationship with partners,” he said. “Over the years we have welcomed thousands of guests into our restaurants and the Insider Guide series now give us the opportunity to share the insider knowledge we have gained from the many successful business dinners we've helped facilitate."

The new release will be available in English in the four InterContinental properties across Australia. The brand’s fifth property, the InterContinental Sydney Double Bay, is scheduled to open in 2014.
