Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism is on a mission to encourage more Aussies to visit its shores and is inviting travel agents to come and find out why Bali remains such a popular destination for Australians, and learn about Bali’s growing role as a gateway to Indonesia’s other amazing holiday destinations.

As part of the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to increase Australian interest, the Ministry’s Sales Missions will be held on the 20th of July in Sydney and on the 22nd of July in Australia’s capital of Canberra.

Exhibiting with the team from Wonderful Indonesia will be several tour companies, specialising in different travel niches, as well as representatives from various hotels, villas, boutique resorts and wellness centres.

The Director of Promotion for Asia Pacific, Mr. Vinsensius Jemadu said, “Bali continues to be Australia’s favourite destination but given the Australian market’s interest in immersive experiences, Indonesia has a lot more to offer and we expect Australians will show great interest in our adventure and cultural attractions.”

The Ministry has designated 10 priority tourism destinations, which can be enjoyed by Australian, namely:

  1. Greater Batam (Aceh, Riau Islands, Riau, West Sumatra)
  2. Medan, North Sumatra
  3. Greater Jakarta (Jakarta, Banten & West Java)
  4. Bandung, West Java
  5. Heritage Triangle (Yogyakarta, Solo, Semarang)
  6. Banyuwangi, East Java
  7. Greater Bali (Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, Banyuwangi)
  8. Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara
  9. Makasar, South Sulawesi
  10. Coral Triangle (Wakatobi, Bunaken, Raja Ampat)

It is estimated that the number of Australians visiting Indonesia will increase significantly due to the free visa policy implemented recently. The policy enables Australian to visit Indonesia for 30 days without the hassle of applying for an Indonesian visa.

The Sydney tabletop event will be held at Amora Hotel, 11 Jamison St between 6:00pm and 9:30pm on the 20th July, and the Canberra event will be at the Hyatt Hotel, 120 Commonwealth Avenue between 6:00pm and 9:30pm on the 22nd July, 2016.

Guests will be invited to join the delegation for cocktails before a press conference and tabletop presentations take place. There are plenty of door prizes up for grabs, including a free stay at Bali Tropic Resort, including return airfare.

Travel agents can register their interest to attend by emailing info@vitomelbourne.com.au
