Urban Events to double portfolio

Urban Events Venue & Catering has embarked on an unprecedented phase of growth to give event organisers and planners more choice in locations across Australia.

Many well renowned Australian restaurants have been brought to the table, including more Sake Restaurant and Bars, as well as new restaurant concepts such as Italian.

In Sydney, the group is expanding its presence in the Rocks area in addition to new locations within Darling Harbour – soon-to-be home to the new International Convention Centre (ICC).

This year Sydney will see the opening of Stella Restaurante and Terrazzo, a stunning venue featuring two small and private dining rooms alongside the main 150 seating area.

Sake Live is set to cover 550 square meters, housing the city’s largest sushi bar and robatayaki grill. This venue will open mid-2016.

Pop-up restaurants will also be a feature of the Urban Events’ new portfolio. With two large shipping containers as a base, world-class chefs are at the helm to design tailored menus drawing on the flavours of the group’s critically acclaimed restaurants.

Urban Purveyor Group Director of Sales Julie van der Weegen said an exciting range of event spaces and dining destinations are planned to debut over the next 12 months, offering clients even more choice.

“The exceptional growth of our business means we have much more to offer our clients: more restaurants, bars and venues to hire for exclusive dining experiences, more private dining rooms and large function spaces to cater events of any size, more cuisines to inspire menus, and an augmented team of events and catering planners to take clients’ ideas from incubation to realisation,” she said.
