ABEE 2013 transformation

ABEE 2013 transformation

The 2013 Australian Business Expo (ABEE) has received a “complete overhaul” as management looks to boost visitor numbers, which slumped at last year’s show.

ABEE 2013 features a revised format, new floor plan and new speakers. There’s also a new seminar program and more opportunities for delegates and exhibitors to experience new industry products and services.

The changes come on the back of softened visitor numbers last year, in which just over 4,000 visitors passed through the doors. Event organisers had been expecting more than 5,000 visitors.

However, event director Karen Krieger remains confident that this year’s expo will attract some 5,500 corporate event professionals from across the globe.

“ABEE has undergone a complete overhaul during its development this year [and] will provide domestic and international visitors the unique opportunity to conduct business and experience a taste of what this great continent has to offer,” she said.

Built on the theme ‘The intelligent place to meet’, Krieger said this year’s show will provide attendees with ample opportunities to experience new products and ideas. Exhibitors will also have the opportunity to increase their brand awareness and build solid sales leads, she said.

Exhibitions and Trade Fairs chief executive Gary Daly added that ABEE 2013 would also play a key role in showcasing Australia as a key business events destination.

“This year, ABEE will engage all delegates by providing them with a memorable experience of Australia. These unique experiences and touch points will ensure exhibitors forge stronger bonds with customers, roaming delegates and provide not to be forgotten encounters,” he said.

Over 200 exhibitors are expected to attend ABEE 2013, which will be held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre on August 14-15.Visitor registrations will open at the end of the month.
