Oh-la-la Ananas

Oh-la-la Ananas

Ananas Bar & Brasserie is the new place to be at The Rocks in Sydney. It shimmers French Mediterranean with an ananas, which translates to pineapple in French and 16 other European languages, theme.

Executive Chef James Privett did well when devising a contemporary menu with classic twists on French Mediterranean food, cocktails, wine and Champagne. The food, drinks, décor, and service left me impressed and wanting to go back for more.

The menu selection is dylicieux. The Lobster Ravioli entree was exquisite and the Slow Roast Lamb Shoulder melted in my mouth. I couldn’t pick just one dessert and went for the French twist of the ‘Snickers dessert’ as well as the ‘salted caramel éclair’. The ‘Absolutely Ananas’ signature cocktail—sticky and spicy with a vodka base, shaken and served in a martini glass with a fresh pineapple slice—is a must try.

This modern Bar and restaurant includes chic 1920’s French décor with pineapple features throughout. There are even Pineaapple lights!  The atmosphere was suave with dim lighting and sounds of smooth modern French beats filled the air.  You can’t help but be charmed by the French waiters too.

If you’re looking for a trendy new restaurant to shake up your old routine, look no further than Ananas. They offer semi-private dining for corporate events as well so if you’re looking for a new lunch & learn venue in Sydney, now you’re sorted.
